EEM.com is the world's largest source of online information on electronic components, equipment
and services. Its real strength, aside from its depth, is the easy, fast, and
comprehensive indexing system which allows for finding information in a minimum
amount of screens. Below are some tips and instructions on how to use EEM.com.
- You can search by using your mouse to select a desired product category and sub-categories.
- Type in what you want to search for in the space provided. Then click on either
PRODUCT or MANUFACTURER search.
- You can also search by entering a desired product type or manufacturer name.If you're unsure of the name, type in a few
letters to get the search started. If you match exactly, you'll be taken to
that item directly. If not, a list will be presented from which to choose
(this applies to both product and manufacturer searches).
- Typed-in words are case
insensitive and singular/plural insensitive, in addition, our search engine
strips out spaces, dashes, hyphens, ampersands ("&"), and the
like. This makes it easier to find multi-word product types and companies.
- For product searches,
use regular syntax for product categories. For example, to find "AC
power supplies," just type in that phrase; there is no need to input
"power supplies, AC" (though that is how the search results list
is displayed).

- If, for example, you typed in or selected "AC Power Supplies." a list of sub-categories of "AC Power Supplies" will
be offered from which to narrow your choices.
- Click on the function/type
that best match your needs (in this example, AC Power Supplies, Constant Voltage).
Then you're presented with a list of manufacturers
that offer that product.
- This list offers four paths:
- You can click on the
to get that company's "profile" or salient corporate information.
OR
- You can click
directly on a manufacturer's name to go to their website.
OR
- You can click
on the
to get a list of that manufacturer's pages on EEM.
OR
- You can click
on the
to go directly to that manufacturer's product line on their website.

- If for example, you typed in "Datel." and it was a perfect match to the company name, you will be
taken directly to that company's "profile" or corporate information
page.
If instead you typed in an incomplete text string or generic company name, you would
get a list of companies to choose from as well as links to their corresponding
"profile" page. You can then select the company
you desire from this list.
- The "profile" page
offers multiple paths:
- First, you can click on the "products"
button and go to a list of products that that company manufactures
as well as to their EEM catalog pages to view.
NOTE: The pages in blue are products for which catalog data is included in both EEM.com and in EEM Print. Product categories not hyperlinked to an EEM
page are manufactured by that company, but are not described in
EEM.
- Second, you can click on the "sales offices"
button to get a geographically-ordered list of a manufacturer's
domestic and international sales reps.
- Third, you can find a local distributor for this manufacturer
by clicking on the "distributors"button.
- Fourth, you can see the various ways to contact the company, including phone, fax, and most importantly, an
email address or weblink, if available.
- Fifth, a deeplink button, if available will bring you to that manufacturer's product page from which you can link directly to specific data on the manufacturer's web site.

- EEM's Distributor Inventory Search engine interfaces with a database containing parts from major franchised distributors worldwide.
- You can access the Distributor Inventory Search from the home page from here.
- For registration and login questions, go to Membership FAQ.
- Distributor Inventory Search, simply type in the part number to determine exactly who carries a given part and how many are available in-stock.
Users must be registered with EEM, Stocknet, or IC Master.

- For many products listed in the Integrated Circuits, and Discrete Semiconductors families, you can continue your search using the EEM / IC Master Parametric Search Portal.
If the product category has parametric information available, the  button will appear on the screen that lists the manufacturers.
Once registered with a valid Email address, you'll gain powerful part number and parameter search capabilities from the industry's leading source on current and discontinued ICs.

| Working with High Resolution PDF files (and Adobe Acrobat) |
The PDF file is the exact
replica of EEM catalog pages in print and on the CD-ROM, and is an industry-standard
method for viewing documents posted on the web.
- To get the latest version
of the Acrobat
Reader, click on this. EEM does not provide technical support for the
reader, but its use and installation is fairly straightforward. It is best
to set it up as a plug-in that is automatically loaded when the PDF file format
is encountered by your browser.
